Hints and Tips
Before jumping
in head first and getting a website just for the heck of it. It is important
to consider what you want your site to convey.
Is it going to
be an information site only?
Perhaps a full
online e-commerce store.
A mixture of
both?
If you have a
bricks and mortar business, then a website that integrates seamlessly into and
enhances your business can be a great investment with relatively little outlay
for the rewards that a well designed and well planned site can bring.
One of our
clients had a site designed by a company a few years ago and he never received
ANY feedback or inquiries from his site. I persuaded him to let us have a go
at optimising and submitting his site to prove that a website can be worth
while and not break the bank in the process. He is a true convert and can't
believe how he ever did business without it.
An investment
in your online presence must be well thought out and planned if it is going to
achieve your aims. You need to know your target market and the visitor to your
site must be able to immediately determine the products and services that are
offered by your business.
If you are
going to sell a physical product online, the visitor needs to know that you
can ship it to their address with out hassles, what payment options they have
and what, if any, refund or warranty policies are in place.
The Internet
is the perfect way to convey all this essential information 24 hours a day, 7
days a week, 365 days a year to a local, national and international
market.
If it is done
correctly, there really is no other value for money medium like a website.
